A poem, a short story, a scene of dialogue or a fragment of a memoir: creative writing can take many forms. Sometimes you arrive with an idea to develop. Sometimes you need a prompt, a conversation or a new perspective to get the words flowing.
At Fabrique Bilingue, our Creative Writing Workshop offers adults and teenagers a space to experiment with language, explore different forms of writing and discover where their ideas might lead.
Write freely, with guidance along the way
The workshop is designed to stimulate inspiration and creativity, without the pressure of producing a finished piece every time. Participants can explore poetry, storytelling, dialogue and other forms of written expression.
Alongside this freedom, experienced writers share practical advice, basic writing principles and techniques to help participants develop their work. Exercises can explore elements such as character, plot, setting, style and genre, while leaving room for individual interests.
You might arrive with a half-formed idea and leave with the beginning of a poem. Or a writing prompt might take you somewhere entirely unexpected.
Meet the writers
The workshop brings together four writers: Florence Rivières, Vlada Sebova, Matthew Willis and Ada Norton. Their sessions draw on their experience of writing and mentoring, introducing different perspectives and approaches to creative work.
You can also discover Ada Norton’s writing on her blog, Ada Trouble.
Wednesday evenings at Fabrique Bilingue
The workshop takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 pm at Darwin Écosystème in Bordeaux. It is open to adults and teenagers, with B2 English recommended.
Drop-in sessions are listed at €20, with trimester and annual registration options also available.
Bring an idea, a notebook or simply the desire to write. There is no single right way to begin.
