Yes, 2024 will be a year of evolution and development!
Many of you already came by our space at Darwin with plenty of ideas to help us bring our community together, make it grow, and create rich and various workshops and events for all.
YOUNGSTERS PROGRAMS
Our programs for kids and teens will remain the same RIVE GAUCHE and are multiplying upon demand RIVE DROITE at Darwin. Check out below the calendar for the coming months.
WEEKLY PLAYDATES RIVE GAUCHE
The weekly sessions RIVE GAUCHE will continue as they are until we can find a space to expand there as well. Conversations with our neighborhood “Mairie” have started and we hope to have something for September. Fingers crossed.
WEEKLY PLAYDATES RIVE DROITE
We are also opening new weekly Playdate sessions RIVE DROITE at Darwin on Wednesdays starting in February with these attempted time slots:

- 4-5:30 pm for the 9 to 12-year-olds

- 5:30-7 pm for the 13+
During these sessions, the kids and tweens meet weekly to work on a project of their choosing while we facilitate, encourage, and make sure their English is blooming as they cooperate to bring their project to completion. This is a great way to bond and make quick progress while having fun and learning new skills. This is our original winning formula and we are hoping Rive Droite families and independent teens will cross the bridge to take advantage of these Wednesday time slots !
ESPACE KIDS @DARWIN
Our “Kids Space” RIVE DROITE will now be open on Wednesdays as well as Saturdays and Sundays. Espace Kids is a free-play space with plenty of games, art supplies, yoga mats, books and more to practice and learn english while playing and making things together with friends. The adults or teen facilitators encourage kindhearted interactions and are there to make sure everyone is feeling comfortable. English comes naturally as we use plenty of gestures and children are encouraged to repeat each new word they hear and to use them as puzzle pieces to create sentences. This is the perfect way for your kids to try out fabrique Bilingue without a weekly commitment while you can enjoy a good beer or coffee with other adults at Darwin!
MORNING TOTS
Our early Wednesday mornings will be dedicated to little kids with our “Morning Tots” program starting in February. The idea is to offer age-appropriate discovery activities such as music, sensory play, yoga and more with a variety of specialized educators, along with some moms& tots time in English.
KIDS WORKSHOPS
Also starting February 7th at Darwin is a monthly vegetarian cooking workshop for kids on Wednesday morning. The other Wednesdays are open slots for more workshops for those interested in sharing their passion with kids, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to organize something.
MOVIE NIGHTS
Starting in February as well, is our first movie Night of the year!
This was everyone’s favorite event Rive Gauche and it will now take place at our Darwin space! We will launch the first one with « MOVIE NIGHT KIDDOS », for the 5 to 10 year olds, on Saturday, 3rd February 7-9pm.

RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO YOU!
OUR LIBRARY OPENS 1ST FEBRUARY
We decided to start lending books as soon as February 1st! We still need books of course, and we are counting on you and our extended community to make it happen, but we already have a bunch of great ones waiting to be appreciated, so why wait to claim our English library officially open!

Well, aside from borrowing books there are many ways for you to take advantage of your membership and our beautiful space.
You can use our space as a working space if you need to work in English, organise a professional meeting, or an evening gathering of some sort…
You can get help from us or someone else in the community if you need to get ready for a presentation in English… tell us how we can help?!
OPEN HOUSE
More dates for your agendas! We are starting the new year with two open houses to give everyone a chance to meet with us, ask questions, share ideas, and discover our new space: one in January for kids and families with a Karaoke, and one later in March for our adult community members and future members to meet and mingle!
