Fabrique Bilingue Bookclub:  More Than Just a Book Club

If you’re an English speaker or someone looking to improve your English, the Fabrique Bilingue Bookclub is not your ordinary book club.

A Unique Approach to Language and Literature

At Fabrique Bilingue, we believe in creating an environment where everyone can thrive—whether you’re fluent in English or still on your language-learning journey.

Unlike traditional book clubs where everyone reads the same book, our approach is different. We encourage each member to select a different book from our diverse library to read. This allows for a variety of genres, authors, and themes, making every meeting an exciting new adventure in learning and discovery.

Our library is full of carefully curated selections, offering books that cater to different reading levels and interests. From contemporary novels to classics, non-fiction to fantasy, there’s something for everyone. The beauty of this approach is that each member gets to dive into their personal reading choice, which they can later share and discuss with the group.

Read, Speak, Share

The Fabrique Bilingue Bookclub isn’t just about reading—it’s about actively improving your English reading and speaking skills. As an English speaker or someone learning English, you’ll be encouraged to share your thoughts on the books you’ve read. Discussing your favorite parts, what you loved (or didn’t love), and your overall impressions is an invaluable way to practice your speaking skills. Plus, hearing others share their thoughts is a great way to learn new vocabulary and phrases.

Each meeting offers an opportunity to engage in lively conversations, where you can ask questions, make recommendations, and exchange ideas. This constant interaction helps you improve your fluency and confidence in speaking English in a relaxed, supportive environment. And if you’re still working on your reading, having discussions about the book will solidify your understanding and make learning enjoyable.

A Social and Collaborative Experience

The Fabrique Bilingue Bookclub is also about community involvement and connection. We meet every other month, giving members time to enjoy their books at their own pace, but also ensuring that the excitement of the club stays fresh. When we come together, it’s not just for book talks. We mingle, share food and drinks, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere that fosters camaraderie. These social interactions enhance the experience, making it more than just a book club—but a community where everyone feels at home.

Beyond the discussions, members are encouraged to review the books they’ve read and write recommendations for other members who use our library and to make recommadations on what books we could acquire to keep our library rich and vibrant.  This creates a wonderful sharing system where everyone can discover new books and broaden their reading horizons based on the experiences of fellow members.
